Modernization of Education: a New Approach and Method in Learning Islamic Religious Education

The purpose of this study is to describe Islamic religious education as the main subject taught at various levels educational units that are facing serious problems, namely threat modernization changes all human life in fields, including education, era required be responsive overcoming problems. faced by humans, with demands modern humans who want graduates master fields and expertise. This research qualitative using exploratory research. data analysis technique used phenomenological collection methods observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies. results need reformulate system based on needs society, one strategic steps change approach learning method schools from old model new effort has already been carried out superior Indonesia, especially schools. Senior High School Al-Azhar 1 Jakarta field PAI studies which benchmarks success five approaches Religious Education following approaches: first, experience; second, habituation; third, Emotional; fourth, Rational; Fifth, Functional. As well creating special for each material curriculum. are: teaching faith; worship; morality; history culture; Qur'an.
